Hah. It's not near as 'primitive' as it was in my era.

[That was the time when metallurgy was still being refined, the era when literacy was reserved for the nobles and the monks, the era when the known world was still so small and the unknown was within reach. Mordred grinned though, not ashamed of these facts. Cars and cellphones were fantastic, but there was still a great deal that people couldn't do with science alone-- and the magic was incomplete to try.]

But it's got nothing on this place. This isn't my first time getting thrown into something weird, but most people haven't had to deal with a thousand years' worth of learning being shoved into their heads. Of course they're losing it over something stupid.

[Unlike Kerra, who knew all of the right words to say. Internally, Mordred preened at the compliment.]

I wouldn't mind being with a stunner like you if I need someone for more than a partner in crime. I appreciate how sensible you're being, and how understanding.

[Most people would have balked at her explanation, she knew. It wasn't something she herself would ever believe if she weren't living it, but the fact that her fellow knight in Kerra found everything she said so easy to comprehend was a reward all on it's own.

She was someone Mordred looked forward to spending more time with.]

Definitly. I'd go for sharing a few pints with you.

[Vacation or not, this was already far more time than Mordred expected to be given. Even if the Holy Grail was beyond her reach and she was never able to fight her father for the right to rule... time was enough. Her life had been so short-- shorter than people realized-- that the little things were what she appreciated the most.]

What do you say we slip out after we take a peek at whatever it is they're hiding?
